I think it was Pong.
The 1950s called pong.

(pong was not released until 1972)

NIMROD, Nim for short.
Actually, Universities were playing Tic-Tac-Toe and other simple games on those old punchcard machines way before pong. Pong was just the first to be consumed by the mass market.
